Inclusive environments that cater to the diverse needs of all students is vital in the classroom. To achieve this, we must leverage various forms of technology and assistive devices to create an accessible and engaging learning space. One prominent example is the integration of speech-to-text software. This is implemented for those who may struggle with traditional writing or have language processing difficulties. This technology allows students to express their thoughts and ideas verbally, and the software transcribes their words into written form. For students with visual impairments, screen readers and customized font options are incorporated into digital materials. Furthermore, educators can encourage the use of educational apps and tools that support diverse learning styles, such as those focusing on gamification and tactile experiences for hands-on learners.

Hughes & Roblyer (2023) discuss that ensuring equitable access to websites for all students is crucial for creating an inclusive educational environment. Captioning for Multimedia is one of those examples- This provides captions for videos and multimedia content. This benefits students with hearing impairments and also supports learners who may be in environments where they cannot use audio. In the text, Assistive Technology for Postsecondary Students with Disabilities it’s stated, “…digital technologies are a tool to access the curriculum”. (Fernández-Batanero, J.M., Montenegro-Rueda, M., Fernández-Cerero, J. (2022)).
